For volunteers to be successful they must be adequately trained. This includes on-going education. Volunteers are required to have 12 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) each year. CEUs can include a variety of topics that educate the volunteers on childhood trauma, the child welfare system, family dynamics, etc. CASA of Sedgwick County must offer 12 in-service hours in order to assist the volunteers in fulfilling this requirement. We do this by bringing in professionals in the field to share their expertise. These in-services are offered to the volunteers for free, however many professionals charge us for their services.
You can fulfill this wish by making a designated donation.
The average in-service costs $100.
