Welcome
It is the mission of CASA of Sedgwick County to provide caring, trained volunteers to advocate for the abused and neglected children of our community so that each child can reach his or her full potential.
Every day, children in our community are removed from their homes and placed into temporary foster care due to abuse or neglect. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers come alongside them in their darkest hour and help them to find safe, permanent homes where they can thrive.
Each volunteer advocate is thoroughly screened and specially trained to be a powerful voice for these children’s best interests. They are ordinary people who do extraordinary things for some of our community’s most vulnerable children.
To learn more about our program watch the video "Give a Voice to an Abused/Neglected Child".

Volunteer of the Month
SUPERSTAR VOLUNTEER STEPHANIE MURPHY
Stephanie leapt right into her first case with four children in four different placements. Stephanie has gone above and beyond in advocating for all of the children on her case. She has moved the case forward ensuring the best interest of the kiddos are recognized. She has established great rapport with all the parties on the case and is well respected. Stephanie always turns in her monthly and court reports on time and is a delight to work with. Stephanie has been able to establish great relationships with each child she is serving. Her advocacy efforts are both extraordinary and effective. This is apparent as the judge often adopts her recommendations as court orders. Stephanie’s case is extremely complex and sad. We are very fortunate to have her looking out for all four children.
