DCF Independent Living Supervisor, Briana Searight, is facilitating a training for advocates whose CASA kiddos are 14-21 years of age. Briana will go over DCF IL Benefits & Programming available to youth upon aging out of state custody. This will be an informative CEU opportunity and will help answer questions that CASAs and CASA Staff sometimes have when navigating the process of a foster youth turning 18. This is practical information that can be applied when helping an older youth consider their plan for tuning 18 and whether or not they will choose to stay in state custody or age out.
